We recently stayed at the Erwain Escape cabin for two nights, and it was just perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Angela, who gave us a quick tour of the cabin and the gorgeous meadow around it. The cabin itself is outstanding - every detail has been so thoughtfully considered that there isn’t a single thing we’d change. Our stay was so relaxing: zero signal, no internet, no TV… just total peace, tranquility, soothing baths, beautiful birds and Scrabble ☺️We can’t wait to book again for the summer. Thank you so much for creating such a unique, peaceful retreat - it’s clear just how much love and passion went into Erwain. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a break from it all!
This cabin is truly magical - it’s so well finished, well equipped and thoughtfully curated. A warm welcome, a peaceful setting and total comfort can all be found here. The outdoor bath is naturally a stand-out feature, as is the fire pit and impressive view. Equally pleasing are all the eco-friendly touches (the pots & pans), natural produce (delicious apple juice) and the incredibly snuggly bed. Needless to say, we didn’t want to leave. I’d recommend opening all blinds slowly before you open windows and doors, as you never know what animals might be within view - I caught sight of an amazing stag just metres away, as well as many beautiful birds. I would recommend this to anyone and thank Angela and Ian for creating and sharing this beautiful paradise.
Absolutely fantastic stay at Erwain Escapes. Angela and Ian are wonderful hosts, so friendly and helpful and they really have thought of everything. For such a compact space, they've managed to fit in everything you could need so well. I'm used to bringing a bag full of all the things I think will be missing on trips like this but my matches, spare glasses, spatulas, tea bags and picnic rug stayed firmly in the back up bag thanks to Angela's thorough provisions! 😂The cabin itself and the location are absolutely stunning, with a whole private meadow and BBQ/fire pit area to yourself. If you're looking for total peace then I can't recommend it enough. Can't wait to come back to this little slice of heaven.
The perfect escape to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to spend a few nights away from it all in a luxury cabin, beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything you need and more for a romantic getaway. Angela and Ian are the perfect hosts, we loved everything about our stay here and will definitely be back.
**Review for Erwain Escapes: A Magical Retreat**From the moment I arrived at Erwain Escapes, I felt as though I had known Angela and Ian forever. Their warm welcome was like being greeted by old friends, setting the tone for what turned out to be an extraordinary stay. The cabin is nestled in a breathtaking meadow, with meticulously maintained lawned paths weaving through vibrant wildflower patches—a haven designed to encourage and support local wildlife. Upon arrival, Angela gave me a perfect tour of the cabin, which was immaculate, with every conceivable need catered for.The welcome gift was truly special—fresh eggs, butter, apple juice, local honey, milk, a lovely Cariad shower steamer, wildflower seeds, and a personal handwritten thank you card. It was a beautiful gesture that made me feel immediately at home. The cabin itself is a masterpiece of cosy, modern design. The kitchen was fully fitted and well-equipped, the bathroom was luxurious with plenty of fluffy towels, a bathrobe, and eco-friendly toiletries. The lounge area was inviting, with a log fire and plenty of firewood, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable with exquisite bed linen. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, down to the smallest touches.Angela and Ian went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. When I mentioned my love for wild swimming, Angela promptly found several local spots for me to try and even printed a list. Their guest information book was incredibly thorough, covering everything—even how long it takes for the water to heat up after use (20 minutes!).Despite the rain that persisted throughout my stay, I found exactly what I was looking for—a peaceful, rejuvenating escape. I spent most of my time in the cabin, only venturing out to enjoy the outdoor bath on the decking, overlooking the wildflowers and trees. I spent the majority of my stay in the glorious bath and at one point I even had a lovely big fat slug for company! Though I didn’t get to use the hammock by the river or the lovely outdoor seating and dining area, I’m already planning my return visit to experience those delights. This trip was particularly meaningful as it was my first time traveling alone, a bucket list experience that Angela and Ian made incredibly special. They ensured I felt completely safe, which I did, making Erwain Escapes a perfect retreat for solo travelers seeking tranquility and privacy. Both nights, I slept soundly with the windows open, lulled by the soothing sounds of the river, owls, and rain. Leaving was bittersweet—I was sad to go, but I felt incredibly rested and recharged. Angela and Ian have truly created a magical place, and I cannot wait to return. I wholeheartedly recommend Erwain Escapes to anyone in search of a serene and enchanting getaway.
If you need to unwind and recharge this is definitely the best place to do it. Surrounded by wild flower meadows you'll love being in nature.Angela you truly have thought of everything in your gorgeous cabin, it's so well equip and decorated beautifully we wished we'd stayed longer.Thank you for such a warm and friendly welcome. I will be recommending Erwain Escapes to everyone.
We had the most incredible stay at the Cabin. The cabin itself is beautifully designed and decorated with such intricate details. The setting is just lovely, such a peaceful and relaxing environment to unwind. The outdoor bath was perfect for taking in the beautiful surroundings with a glass of bubbly and a book at the end of the day.Angela and Ian are such wonderful hosts, going the extra step to make our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back again!
I loved my stay at the cabin! It was surrounded by a beautiful meadow, with a stream passing through which washed away all my troubles. Wandering in the meadow I found a frisbee around a wooden post which kept me entertained for around 10 minutes, I failed to catch it on the post but it was fun trying. Next time I intend on mastering it 😄 I was hoping to find a bow and arrow with the target but I guess that may have too many hazards with it! The beauty in and around the cabin made for an epic escape, with picturesque views and moments filled with gratitude and wonder. The outside bath gave it that extra unique experience whilst the sun was setting, just don't forget your bubbles like I did ! The hosts were very warm and welcoming, also gave me a little tour of the cabin to settle my toes in. It was a solo trip for me so I appreciated the tips on using the log burner, which was one of my favourite parts. I was welcomed with a few goodies on arrival like eggs, butter and milk (which was so delicious, if they sold it I would of purchased it). The pure apple juice went down a treat also. I loved the honesty purchase, where you could buy the products used at the cabin (which smelt delightful) and the homemade apple juice and honey, dont forget to take cash for the honesty box because you will certainly want to get you some heartwarming goodies at a reasonable price to. They also thought of every little detail which made the experience much more unique than any other. With the benoculars provided the moon was magical! I also woke up one morning to a deer prancing around the meadow, like something out of a fairytale. On leaving, after all the icy cold weather we had, my car wouldn't start which was rather inconvenient but Ian was more than happy to help and soon enough I was back on the road.Thank you both so much for creating this beautiful little haven. I am eager to return.
A stunning retreat, beautifully decorated and surrounded by nature...nothing but the sound of the river rushing by and the woodstove crackling. Cosy and luxurious. Dark skies make amazing stargazing and the outdoor bathtub is total bliss at sunrise/sunset or any time! We saw wild deer and a fox from our window. Wonderful hosts and endless thoughtful touches, like local produce and bath products. Lovely local walks and the cute village of Cymdu down the road.
Just returned from an amazing festive stay at the Erwain Escapes cabin! The place was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed, was impeccably clean and we were absolutely spoilt by the beautiful surroundings. It was such a joy to spend our Christmas there and we can’t wait to return!
If you and your partner are looking for a cozy retreat, I can't reccomend this place enough. Everything is very well thought out, the attention to detial is amazing. The hosts are the most lovely people and have clearly worked hard to get this place as amazing as it is. I'm looking forward to returning x
This place is an incredible place to stay. My husband and I were lost for words when entering the beautiful cabin with every tiny detail done with such love and care it was beautiful. The surrounding area is stunning and full of lovely walks. We loved the outside bath, and the stillness around us. It's clear how much love has gone into making this a perfect off grid place to stay. Its impeccably clean and homily. There was nothing better than getting in from a very wet walk and opening a bottle of red by the fire. We honestly can't wait to return. Thank you again for everything.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at this beautiful cabin for 4 nights and had the most amazing time. It was clear how much thought, time and effort has gone into it because everything has been thought of down to smallest of details. Having the whole meadow to ourselves with the stream was just so peaceful and relaxing, the hammock was perfect for an afternoon chill. The outdoor bath was a new experience but definitely an enjoyable one which is such a lovely way to end the day even in the rain haha!Angela and Ian are such amazing hosts nothing is ever too much and they provide so much information on places to visit, places to eat and activities to do while you are there which are so useful.Overall, we had the most amazing time and will definitely be returning soon!Thank you for creating such an amazing place 😊
Absolutely loved staying at this Erwain Escapes! Celebrated my partner’s birthday here, and had such a magical time, listening to the river and birds chirping, relaxing by the fire, watching the stars, cozying up in the cabin. We still dream of our stay here. It’s one of those places you go and fall in love with instantly 😊
Nothing short of magical. This enchanting corner of the Welsh garden is so beautiful it ought to be a secret. Thanks to Angela & Ian's passion for conservation and attention to detail they've given this idyllic secret garden the care it deserves; offering a getaway like no other.
To us it was the most magical experience from as soon as you arrive you walk through a bamboo arch to see a beautiful cabin in a beautiful meadow, it is a place where you completely recharge your mind body and soul and never want to leave every tiny detail is perfect we can’t thank you both enough.
Beautiful cabin in the most fantastic meadow with absolutely everything you could possibly need: bbq, hammock, lots of space, a fantastic welcome pack and the outside bath!!
I hesitate to post this, as I feel as if I am giving up a huge secret into how amazing this place is.It’s set in a wonderful part of the world, where you can enjoy such tranquility. This is aided by the very thoughtful and high quality design of the cabin created, with an outdoor bath and lounge area. You’re able to enjoy not only the comfort of the clean and fresh cabin, but the BBQ and Fire-pit areas too - this adds to the whole experience. You’d think that is it, but Angela adds more to the experience by her unrivalled attention to detail; a trolley to manage your belongings from the safe parking area, kitchen utensils, bathroom amenities, guides, reading books, board games, binoculars and many more comforts included to make sure you can really make the most of your stay. There were a few things we didn’t do, such as sitting by the stream or using the hammock provided but it leaves room for our return to do just that.I think that without Angela and her touches, this place wouldn’t be the same - I’d genuinely say that both my partner and I couldn’t have felt more relaxed. If you are thinking about booking, stop and just do it because they’ll be zero regrets. We will definitely be back and have no qualms that the weather or season will interfere with the stay. Thanks again Angela and see you soon!
When we first stumbled upon this idyllic cabin it seemed almost too good to be true but everything was just perfect and made our last minute get away, one to remember!Angela provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around the cabin which is so elegantly furnished and equipped with everything one needs. The attention to detail is beyond belief, the pictures just doesn’t do it justice. The location and surroundings are truly incredible, so peaceful we had the most comfortable nights sleep ever! The out door bath experience is a must and just to lounge on the decking watching the sun go down was amazing as was to having the whole meadow all to ourselves.Although we didn’t have a chance to have a bbq, we did toast marshmallow over the rustic fire pit, a whole other experience. Thanks Angela and Erwain escapes for indeed a wonderful escape, we will definitely return! Many thanks Diane and Andy
Great location and plenty of space around the cabin with a BBQ area and fire pit. Plus seating on a decked area and a hammock and seats by the river. The welcome was friendly and this location is really a must if you need some time away from technology as your chances of getting a mobile signal is pretty much nil! That said you don't need it, there are games, a great view and you can just enjoy the company.Would recommend to anyone considering staying.
What an amazing place! A superb, tranquil retreat to help you relax, unwind and de-stress. We loved every minute of it from the sunken bath outside under the stars, to relaxing on the decking and just listening to the birds singing and the bees humming. The cabin itself has been thoughtfully constructed and has everything you need for a quiet get away from it all. The hosts Angela and Ian are very welcoming and have thought of everything - even a welcome hamper with some delicious goodies. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return
Stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. Angela was very welcoming as the host and very friendly. We really enjoyed our time here, it was very a relaxing setting and surrounded by nature. The cabin had everything that you would need for a stay and more. It was very nicely furnished and felt very comfortable. We particularly liked the deckchairs by the stream and the outdoor seating area.Llandeilo is the closest town with nice coffee and food options. We will definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Firstly, Angela and Ian were wonderful hosts that were friendly, responsive and helpful with reccomendations for the local area. The cabin itself was gorgeous, had absolutely everything we needed to cook, play board games, relax in the outdoor bath and relax on the land around us. We enjoyed listening to the birds and the stream on the land - so peaceful! We felt right at home, and the hosts were responsive if we needed anything although left us to it so we had privacy and could unwind. Although, the only thing we needed was requesting an extra night (luckily there was availability!) as we never wanted to leave. We also really enjoyed the no signal or wifi - this really helped us switch off from day to day life. The local area has some wonderful hikes and walks and natural beauty. Thank you Angela and Ian, we will be back - hopefully for our anniversary next year. This place is really special and there’s nothing we would have changed ❤️

Angela’s place is absoutely beautiful and perfect. Me and my wife booked this for a short 2-night stay, looking for peace and quiet and space to unwind. This place could not have been more perfect! Beautifully decorated. Gorgeous grounds and landscape. Very quiet. Helpful host. Totally worth the money and would certainly visit again. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Angela and Ian - your cabin is just wonderful and has everything you need for a weekend away. Thank you for sharing your small part of the world with us, we really had the most relaxing time and managed to unwind where that feels like a rarity sometimes. A weekend full of rest, no phones and enjoying each others company was just what we needed!

This was booked as a romantic break for two with peace, nature and a digital switch off guaranteed… well this lived up to expectations and more! Our hosts greeted us, showed us different elements of the accommodation and then left us to explore. The cabin had everything you would need. The kitchen is well equipped, towels and bedding of good quality and the dressing gowns were perfect for after the bath. The welcome hamper was lovely and the bath bomb much better than the Lush one we had. The bath and the fire pit was the best part of the trip as we made sure we had plenty of Prosecco, gin and smores for the two nights. We did get 5G at points but the Bluetooth radio was more then enough entertainment. We were surprised just how much land we had available to us. We were happy that it was a hidden hideaway and there was no sounds of traffic like the midlands but Owls, birds and the running sound of the river filled the air. We will definitely book this place again, it was jus

Incredible weekend at the cabin for me and my partner to celebrate our anniversary. The surroundings and the inside of the cabin were both so beautiful - we were immediately upset that we’d made plans for the weekend which meant we wouldn’t be able to make the most of it! Will definitely be back. Amazing hospitality from Angela as well, with lots of lovely touches which make it obvious that her and her husband are very passionate about you having a brilliant experience. Can’t fault a single thing!

Very welcoming host and cabin. Angela had thought of everything you could possibly need while there. This was our first “off-grid” getaway and we loved it. There’s plenty to do and see in and around the cabin. It’s set up so you only need to leave to get food which is lovely for a relaxing stay. The best part about the cabin is the location, it’s within the dark skys of wales and the view you can get on a clear night is breath taking. Highly recommend having a “night in” using the BBQ facilities and the outdoor bath to watch the stars after lights have gone out. All in all we had a very much needed relaxing stay and will definitely be going back.

No. We would love guests to experience a digital detox and forget about the outside world for a while. We do understand it may be required at times and although you may not be able to access connections inside the cabin, there are various spots around the meadow where you can pick up 4G.
Free internet access is available at the Cwmdu Inn although in case of an emergency we would be only too happy for you to use our land line. Please be aware we are rural and therefore do not have the fastest connection speeds.

Unfortunately no. Depending on the season you may spot alevins and young trout, although the river is not suitable for fishing. It runs fast at times and it’s bed is made up of carved and jagged slate which is sharp and slippery so can be dangerous. If you would like to experience these activities we have included a selection in Adventures & Activities.
